The Sacred Dance Guild continues their monthly Sacred Sunday experiences. Sessions are intimate, interactive, and informative and are free to the participants, gifted to the Sacred Dance Guild “village” by the presenters, and coordinated by the SDG to connect us to one to another! We are very excited to be celebrating the amazing Omega Dance Company’s 50th anniversary in 2024! Omega is New York’s premier professional sacred dance company and one of the oldest sacred dance companies in the United States, founded in 1974 by sacred dance pioneer Carla De Sola. Omega has been a member of the Sacred Dance Guild since it’s beginning and we are delighted to have the current directors and members and some of the past directors and members (including Carla DeSola) with us to join them in this momentous year! We will share a bit about Omega’s impetus and journey, show a few video segments from Omega’s repertoire, and join together in movement prayer and a brief choreography phrase. We will also moderate a dancing dialogue with Omega folks about their mission and what the company has meant to the members personally.
