All That I Am at the Church of the Village

  • The Church of the Village 201 W 13th St New York, NY, 10011 United States (map)

You’re invited to a performance of "All That I Am," an uplifting solo set to David Haas’s “Magnificat," choreographed and performed by Omega co-director Becky Reuter. Come witness how movement can illuminate Mary’s classic, hope-filled prayer of praise. A perfect meditation for the Advent season!

The performance will happen in the context of the Sunday worship service at the Church of the Village. All are welcome!

The text of the Magnificat, also known as the Canticle of Mary or the Song of Mary, comes straight from the Gospel of Luke wherein the Virgin Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth, who is pregnant with the future John the Baptist. When Mary greets Elizabeth, the child moves in Elizabeth’s womb, and Elizabeth remarks on the strong faith of Mary. The Magnificat is Mary’s response.

The Church of the Village is located at 201 W. 13th St. at the corner of 7th Avenue. Take the 1, 2, 3, F, A, C, E trains to 14th St. stop; M14 bus to 14th & 7th Ave. Further directions at www.churchofthevillage.org.
